The Eagle Project must be a servace project that helps a non-profit for example; any religious institution, any school, or your community.
Find the current Eagle Advisor and ask them if the idea would work as a project.
Talk to the beneficiary and start to make basic plans on what you are going to do for your project. Make sure you tell them that you need to get the plan approved by the committee.
In the Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook located at the link below, you must fill out the project proposal part of the workbook. (It is recomended that you print out the whole packet.)
Ask the Scout Master to set up a time to meeting with the troops unit leader, unit committee, and the council or district.
Start a speech, make a presentation, prepare to give them the answers to the questions they haven't event thought to come up with yet.
Be confident, say your speech, and answer all their questions with confidence. All they are looking for is:
Talk to the beneficiary about finalizing plans on what you are going to do and when you are going to do it. Make sure that you don't plan on the same date a scouting event and alert your Scout Master and SPL of the date.
Fill out the questions for the project under the Eagle Scout Service Project Plan.
Have fun with the project, but make sure that everything is going as planned, and don't forget to delegate and keep scouts working, that's what they are there for.
Complete the questions for the Workbook.
You need to get the Workbook signed by the beneficiary saying that you have completed the project.
You need to go over the project with the Scout Master and get them to sign it.
Now you can move over to finish the rest of the Eagle Scout Requirements.
